We travel a lot and are not high-maintenance at all. We enjoy authentic experiences and do not need a lot of bells and whistles. We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour package and our experience at Hotel Diana was awful. When we entered our room at 2:00 pm the toilet had overflowed to the point that there was standing water in the bathroom and hall. Maintenance was in the room trying to fix it. Our air conditioning and refrigerator did not work and after hours of maintenance trying to repair everything, we had to change rooms at 1:30 am. (we had politely asked for a different room hours earlier but were told the hotel was sold out.) When we asked for a cart to assist with our luggage the employee rolled his eyes. Our new room was half the size of the room we paid for with twin beds, no refrigerator or closet and the tiniest bathroom I have ever seen. The toilet was partially under the sink! But the very worst part of this hotel is not the many maintenance issues, the tiny rooms, the outdated facilites or the cleanliness. It's the people. The staff is so rude and impolite that it is hard to understand why they work in hospitality. We watched the man running the breakfast shout at a guest who politely asked for a table to cleaned off. The front desk staff is rude and the management is even worse. Our entire stay was comped by the tour company after they spoke with the manager and were horrified by his attitude and responses.

It surprises us that there are a couple of low reviews as this Italian hotel is really stunning. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious for Europe. The bathroom is a luxurious marble with all the extras. Milk for coffee is always lacking in Italy, so maybe bring your own sachet for a morning coffee in your room. But the complimentary breakfast on level 7 in the restaurant is exceptional. Everything you could want. The location is fantastic, being so close to the hop on/off buses and train station and many restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. They have one of the best rooftop terrace restaurants.

Great location, easy to walk to the main tourist sites. Room very small and very dated. Mould in the bathroom. Everything feels old and grubby. Breakfast is poor. 100% not 4 star based on UK view of 4 Star. Staff polite and friendly. If I return to Rome I will not stop in this hotel.

This hotel is beautiful, our room was full of character, clean and comfortable with very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast had a great choice with mini custard doughnuts to die for! The roof top cocktail bar is lovely and has a large inexpensive cocktail menu. I would definitely book this hotel again

I don't often think hotels are poor even if a bit tired but the room we had was exhausted as a hotel room it was worn and dirty and wouldn't let my pets stay in it never mind a human. . other family members had refurbished rooms and it was very nice. so be aware it's a lucky dip or not so lucky if your in a old room. Location great and breakfast ok I am aware it's just somewhere to put your head down at the end of the day but sockets hanging of the walls. sink loose mould all around bath etc the list could go on and on. Wouldn't ever stay here again.
